Look what's new!

Busy, Busy, Busy, just a peek into our world and Luke's new view on life. He has glasses like his Uncle J and another pair like his other Uncle J. I don't know which he'll choose for most days.....because we are constantly having to remind him to wear them! He can see the board better at school and he has double vision when he tries to focus to much. The glasses are needed for school, but he should wear them most of the day to correct the tendancy to change to double vision.

I am working tons....Ed is studying lots just watching the days fly by --- 3 weeks until the big annoucement day. Wow!! Life is a changing!! God is good!

Hair update and Lots of Prayers

I was able to buy a CHI....so I again have a very happy girl. It involved a couple trips to Bed Bath and Beyond. Picking up a rain check at Target....running in the rain downpour back to BB and B for the safest hair straightener around. Big brother,Luke not so impressed with all the shopping. I don't know how it works, but it does! Leah's hair is slinky soft and straight. Brittney at Cool Cuts creates a very sleek look....I'm close -- hopefully with practice....It will look even better. I am so happy I haven't ruined her hair yet.....I have been reading lots on the internet about CHI safety....and a thread came up for a mother of a nine year old that goes to the salon weekly with her daughter, because she can not do her hair. I am grateful the Leah and I learned as she grew. Some of the comments had more to do with self image, and what Mom was doing to harm or help. I am terrified this is happening. When we talked about still doing braids for the safety of her hair..she was so upset because "My friends like it straight". The "princess stuff" I get.....even the "Dancing with the stars glamour". I am praying hard that I make the right decisions to help Leah feel positive in who she is ....such a beautiful child of God....inside and out. Healthy and Happy and KNOWING the love of Jesus means so much more than hair.

Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars was a huge hit!! Even ooohhhing and ahhhing over the waltz. She especialy loved her new friend Kristi!

But of course the cha cha and salsa dances are practiced over and over. "Look at me Mama!" Actually she doesn't need much practice. Oh- and if you can find Cheryl Burke's cha cha dress in a size 6, Leah's looking for one. If you find one...best pick up a yard of glittered fabric, to piece the dress together, it seems to missing some of the sides and back.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow.........

Yes, I am interested in how Marlee Martin will dance and I'm sure much better than me. But ever since Dish network open up select "premium" stations, and the month of March is Animal Planet. I DVR as much Animal Planet shows as I can....Lemur Kindom, Elepant Diaries, Meerkat Manor....and the ever favorite Crocodile Hunter.

Problem is I think Crocodile Hunter was more interested in catching snakes and the rodents they eat than the crocodiles!!!! Leah is always insisting to rewatch the "snake show". What ever happened to Dora the Explorer? and Boots!
Once Monday comes..... The DVR will be replaying favorite dances. My goal is twofold. Teach my little dancer how to enjoy waltz dances as well as salsa.......or how to skip with DVR remote herself!

A little of this - A little of that

My mind is fried.. time for bed.

A week ago I was able to buy a DVD maker system to convert my precious adoption videos and kids life videos to DVD. (great deal at ALDIs) Thanks M and R (my in laws)!!!

I didn't have the guts to actually start the process until today.
Because I am completely technology stupid!!!! My fears have been realized. My friends at Best Buy said there is no reason why it should not work....and it does...just the audio. Now actually, I am grateful to at least have my precious babies voices recorded...I just need to see their cute actions, smile and adorableness as well. I know it's possible and I have not given up.... Maybe a good night sleep will help me convert the 260 page online manual to Patty English. It's in English...but DV this and Skkkllloijiej cable that that might as well be in alien language. The pictures don't even make sense tonight. Once I figure it all out...I will be writing my own manual in language and pictures I can understand!! Then I will work on my blog.......I'm sure you all have noticed that I gave up nicknames....other than my daughters given name that when google brings her name up! I wanted to add index and such to the sidebars, but again technology ignorant....so will need to call Ann this weekend. Anyway...

Some week highlights

*The barbie hair is still straight!! She wears a shower cap in the bathtub...as she isn't due for a hair wash until Saturday. My touchups with my straighener is making the ends frizzy....so I will be using my birthday money to buy a CHI. My bosses stylist is willing to help me out. YEAH! a CHI will save me so much time and anxiety over frying her hair!!

*Still know nothing about Call day...other than rumors that the placements have been slow to come in. NOT worrying!!

*Took Luke to an orthodontist this morning to assure the spacing in his teeth will not be overcrowding. Need a special xray...but the Dr isn't too worried.

*Looking into buying tickets to see Ann in 3 short months. With the threat of gas prices. Airfare will probably just skyrocket. I received the time off- Yeah!!!!

Lots of boyscout activities this weekend.... Luke will be having a sleepover and Maleah a babysitter...so date night planned on Saturday...maybe a movie, maybe dinner, maybe hanging out at Barnes and Nobles....that's the cheapest date night! Well see!

Good Night...Lets hope my head will clear to get the video to work tomorrow night. My friends at Best Buy will get a visit as well for a new S video cord!

Barbie Hair

Mommy loves Cool Cuts. They taught me how to corn row. Now I can kinda get close to something like a corn row. Yesterday, they taught me how to straighten hair. I have NEVER seen such a smile on my girl. Brittney the stylist, was the BEST person ever....I guess Mommy is just chopped liver in the hair department. To take the pictures.....she wanted you to see all the angles. I didn't get the picture of the shake out your hair and twirl for the pizza delivery man....but he can attest to the fact.....THIS LITTLE GIRL LIKES BARBIE HAIR!! She combs and brushes her hair every 10 minutes! Now she went to bed before the first pictures where loaded and not one had captured her DIVA SMILE! Today at church....the smile was back because her hair was STILL STRAIGHT. We did have a discussion about the need to wear a coat....because her hair couldn't blow freely in the wind. I have been gently warning her that with her next bath...should be Tuesday.....the hair will go back to normal. I don't think we'll see the same smile. I bought the hair product and I have a similar Straighening rod and better techniques now....so we shall see. I did the same for these Christmas pictures...so you can see not the same. Hopefully....Brittney at COOL CUTS...let a little of her coolness rub off on me. We did discuss with Leah that Brittney can deliver great hair.....and Mommy knows how to deliver shots to people. Yeah....guess Mommy went to school for the wrong profession!!

We are NOT wearing black

We are staying true to our Green and Gold!!! I was horrified to hear the news that Brett was retiring. I was sure there would be great depression in our house today. Luke actually needed to call Daddy right away to console him. We were surprised to hear that it's OK! Phrases like "going out on top" "17 years is an amazing run" and "all these records were broke" were uttered. B said many on campus were wearing green and gold jerseys, so I know what the main topic among the men was -- not how many days to call day. I don't even have to ask who we'll follow next year. This house's veins run green and gold during NFL games.

Plus.... We wouldn't want others to mistake the black - that we were rooting for the Pittsburg Steelers.....we SELDOM do that!

Story of a princess

Setting......Leah pushing a dolly in her stroller.....while dressed in a white slip, with high heels and pearls. What a glamerous mommy-- wonder who she's role modeling there.

Mom - "Leah, you're going to make a wonderful Mommy some day!"
Leah - "I'm not going to be a Mommy, I'm going to be a princess!"
Mom - "But you can be a Mommy and a princess!"
Leah - "No I can't"
Mom - "I can be a Mommy and a princess." (don't know why I said that....but sometimes it's hard to keep a discussion going with a 4 year old)
Leah -- "YOU CAN"T BE A PRINCESS --- you're just a NURSE"

Well I've been told!!! But, you know I've never met a Nurse Princess. Just can't combine the two!!!!
