CALL DAY

Sorry for the late update. Call Day was a blur and not over with until after 10 pm. Today my in laws and Leah toured this great city....poor Luke and B had school. (FYI...Luke did not DIE of boredom at school like he predicted!) B celebrated his 40th!! We just got back from dinner and walking around the river by a pretty historical town.

We are going to West Iowa. For specifics...email me!! We are so happy and excited. It will be perfect for us...even if only for a year. I will be very close to where I spent my first 11 years...in fact, if we want to drive a ways the kids could go to school where I did. I'm not sure nostalgia is worth driving 30 miles....but I did seriously think about it!!! We probably won't move until early July. We are really exited!!!! The time will fly and we hope for a little vacation time back home, and with Ann. I will be so close to many family that I would love to get to know better. The only downfall is probably not doing hospice for a year... the hospice houses are too far away...and I just can not tolerate cigarette smoke. (Many families chain smoke at these stressful times....and there would be no way to avoid it). A sabbatical from Hospice is not a bad thing....it's actually important and made me really appreciate Hospice even more when I returned.

Call Day was sunny and warm and we saw very good friends from the sem and prior to the sem. Good times!! Leah had her first sleepover... with "Spunky Girl" It was so cute to see them just pick up where they had left off. My in laws enjoyed how excited the girls were and said they were so cute. Spunky girl left her Beagle....Leah is keeping it company until Beagle can return to her rightful owner. Luke played with his good friend "Wolf boy"....They are growing up so fast...It's almost 9 years since they were born and baptized together. Now both will soon by Pastor Sons! I wish I also had pictures of the boys but... Luke had his tie and dress shirt off minutes after the ceremony to play....He just doesn't care about being pretty like Miss Leah!

I can not believe the last 3 years have passed so quickly. I am so proud of the men and hopeful for their future ministries. (The same goes double for their women folk!) We have changed and I think for the better. GOD IS GOOD! Off to bed for more sight seeing and getting ready for Uncle B and Aunt K's arrival tomorrow! Leah has her first dance recital this weekend.....can this week be any busier? Wonderful!!As I know more I'll share more about the big MOVE!!

BONUS

Hello Kitty Bedtime Bracelet

And an another!!!

WHO KNEW!!! "Just couldn't help myself"

Yes, Tasha....this is your "Big Blue" Blanket.....a bedtime necessity

NOTE TO SELF

When I have 1 hour to spare.....don't take Leah with me to pick out new tennis shoes for her during sandal season. OH MY!!!! All tennis shoes were rejected. I hear all about Hayley's mother not making her wear tennis shoes to school (despite the rules), when there are dozens of sandal choices. We left with no tennis shoes...but a new pair of sandals for Call Day. I'm thinking she'll be the only Vicar's daughter with sparkling Hello Kitty Sandals!! I brought her to school and later picked out suitable tennis shoes (the good ruler follower that I am.)

Later as B drove her home from school......

Leah: "Mommy took me to the store to buy sparkly shoes today"
B: "I thought Mommy brought you to the store to buy tennis shoes"
Leah: " Yeah.....but I just can't help myself"

Gotta LOVE a girl who understands fashion...and glam and just can't help herself!!

STRESS RELIEF

I should be doing a million things to prepare for our family's arrivel for Call Day and B's 40th Birthday. Packing and looking for a job....staying ahead of laundry... anything but scrapbooking. But I have been scrapbooking EVERYDAY! I did this 3 years ago before that big move too. Something about putting memories into order is calming to me. Even cutting paper...relaxes me. CRAZY I KNOW!! I really hope our new home has a place for me to set up a scrapbooking table to take advantange of this stress reliever year round...before next spring when we need to move again. Tuesday is the big day...details then!! We have a good idea....but are really excited to see Grandma, Grandpa, Kate and family and learn all the details about our next home. Uncle B and Aunt K are coming Thursday and I have a whole week off to take it all in.

Mother's ache

THE CRIB HAS JUST LEFT.............I feel empty, but am pleased it's found a good home. My daughter is showing me how she can touch the bottom of hanging frames on the wall. Remembering the poem.."Quiet down cobwobs...I'm rocking my baby....BECAUSE BABIES DON'T KEEP"

Question

Does anyone know how to get a full can's worth of mousse out of the inside of an enclosed loveseat recliner? Of course the can emptied itself when the recliner legrest was closed. Me Either!!! I need to get another can of Motions light holding stylish mousse....it works great for "Rupunzel curls".

Global Warming?

Sorry to all of you in blog world that had one more weekend of winter weather.

Yes, I'm the one that packed up the kids winter coats, mittens, sweatshirts and thick tights. Just send all complaints this way! I'm the guilty one... I'm just so excited to be moving soon!

Today it was 2 degrees warmer in the cold cold north where we might be moving in a couple months. Serves me right!!

Good news....I found fannel sheets on sale at Kohl's for $9! And my trusty re-sel-it shop had an old fashion electric blanket!! (That will warm up the bed before I get it!) Only 8 more days until I find out if I need them or not!
