Is there DP anonymous?

Hi, My name is Patty and I am ADDICTED to Dr Pepper! I can admit it...but don't want to quit. I can follow any diet, and actually exercise..but am unable to give up my kick from Dr. Pepper. Since I don't do diet soda, or coffee --all that's left is Vivarin (I've actually considered this as an option). I do have tea....especially iced tea but my kidneys go into overtime and this does not always work in nursing....but my doctor insists on weight loss....and I'll have more energy, feel better, smile more and actually fit into 75 % of the clothes in my closet. So I went to Wally World and paid full price for a Mr. Coffee Iced tea maker, because when I go off the DP -- I need lots of cold tea and fast to get through my day. I have NO DP in the house and the stupid (00ps - hope little ears in my house won't read that word) pitcher has a crack from top to bottom. Now I have to go back in line at Wally World to return it -- or stay hooked on DP. Lets hope I still have the motivation to quit when I see how crowded the parking lot is.

Starve the beast! Starve the beast! (that is, the dp addiction, do NOT starve yourself!!!) give yourself a WHOLE week without it, pretty soon you won't miss it anymore. I'll take the challenge with you. You name something for me to give up, and I'll go for it!! Hey, It's almost Lent, too! Let's go for it! You name it, I'm up to the challenge. Patty gives up Dr. Pepper for Lent and Andrea gives up..... (fill in the blank!).

Whoa -- I never said anything about giving up Dr Pepper forever...thats for the serious addicts....a little just helps me get through the day. I've been off for about 8 hours now and can taste it! Remember how its better cold in the can?

You don't have any weird addictions do you? Wait --don't check for spiders before bed. Can you do it? If I gave up Dr Pepper, could I still eat Dr Pepper Jelly belly jelly beans? YUMMY!

Dr. Pepper? I drink diet Dr. Pepper, it's not THAT bad once you get used to it!!! Maybe after Lent, you could try it! If you've been "off" the real thing for awhile it sort of works! LOL

I have my addiction to DDP (Diet Dr. Pepper) and here is how I am trying to get off the stuff. I don't buy cans or 2 liters anymore. I only "let" myself have one DDP each day. How do I manipulate the situation? Quick Trip 64 ounce fountain pop...reuse the cup and the refill only sets you back $1.03. So...less pop each day but I am still drinking it. The fizz that burns your throat...that's what got this Momma hooked. I can appreciate your efforts as well as your addiction. If you find a 12 step program, let me know. Kate :)

NOOOOOOOOOOOO okay never mind patty :) the deal is off. I can NOT not check for spiders before bed.

Wait. I'll not check for spiders anymore if you'll sleep with a cute cuddly little toy mouse on your pillow!

Muwahahahahahahaha
